This series of 6 handbooks were published against a backdrop where Australia had just been bombed and invasion was looming on our northern frontier.
All of the original handbooks are now extremely rare and copies in very good condition are rarely available to buy. As such, the current guide values listed below can sometimes be exceeded.
500 copies of a facsimile edition of the series was published in 1999 by Idriess Enterprises Pty Limited, Uralla. This facsimile edition had titles on the spine (the originals had none and were white) and was sold in a burgundy slipcase
